Should Restaurants Ban Children At Certain Times ?

Howard Helfant, Boca Raton restauranteur and business adviser has been involved in the business for the better part of 30+ years and has read that more and more restaurants are banning children after certain hours.  As one who has been involved in businesses that cater more to an adult crowd Howard Helfant felt the need to step out and take a stand on this issue.  Helfant comments, ” as a father of three children. I could never see leaving my children at home or with someone because my restaurant of choice would not welcome my full family.”

“I was one of those parents”, says Helfant, whose children are now all adults, “I worked hard each week and wanted my family together on weekend”.

Children liven up any room and spread joy wherever they are. They may be loud, but there are plenty of loud adults as well.  Howard Helfant continues, “lighten up a bit.  Parents work as hard as anyone and they may need and want that night out with their kids. At my restaurant we would never ever turn anyone away. We welcome everyone to share in the experience no matter the age! “.

Social Media Marketing For Small Business

Howard Helfant Ways to Promote Business on Social Networking Sites

Howard Helfant, Boca Raton’s resident restaurant entrepreneur and Artesian Bottled Water investor knows the value of a solid social media marketing plan for today’s small business. “Let’s face it”, says Helfant, “social media marketing today is the public relations marketing of the past.” Howard Helfant has hired the services of the top social media people in the country to build out his brands as well as his personal brand.

Howard Helfant continues, “Well, you sure have written and posted amazing content for your business website. You also added enticing headline to get maximum readers click your post. Then, you have also shared the post on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus and you start anticipating your posts to engage and receive innumerable likes, re-tweets, +1s and comments. But, don’t you think your competitors could be following same practices and same social networks? Then, what are your chances of standing out from your rivals and score one up? “.

That is why Howard has budgeted and has the understanding of what is needed in social media marketing. Utilize the services of a company that knows the territory, “don’t try to do it yourself”, says Howard Helfant.

The company that represents the Howard Helfant brand utilizes the convention of frequently used Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus and then, because of their expertise in the field, explores other social networking sites. Following lesser known social networks will offer lesser struggles, but more interactive opportunities to engage targeted audience. They show how these social networking sites work for me and my businesses, concludes Howard .

How well is your business prepared for a hurricane?

Howard Helfant, South Florida’s resident restaurant consultant and bottled water entrepreneur asks, “Is your business ready for a hurricane?”

Helfant has adapted  a disaster quiz developed by the Institute for Business and Home Safety to determine your business’s hurricane readiness.

Answering yes or no to the following questions could determine how well you handle a hurricane:

1. Are you concerned that your normal business operations might be interrupted?

2. Have you determined what parts of your business need to be operational as soon as possible following a hurricane and planned how to resume those operations?

3. Do you and your employees have a hurricane-response plan in place to help assure your safety and to take care of yourselves until help can arrive?

4. Do you have plans and contingencies to communicate with your employees before and after a hurricane?

5. Can your building withstand the impact of a hurricane, and are your contents and inventory sufficiently protected?

As we head into storm season, Howard Helfant feels all businesses need to evaluate their readiness and as can be seen by Storm Sandy, this disaster preparedness is no longer a phenomenon unique to the Southern regions of the country. Howard Helfant stresses. “each year any business needs to double check their hurricane preparedness”.

Howard Helfant On The Upscale Water Business

All one has to do is look at Howard Helfant’s background to realize his sixth  sense about business and trends. Howard Helfant’s latest business venture through a company called Aqualytes Bottling Company of Boca Raton FL., shows the same keen sense of growth as Helfant’s previous businesses.

Helfant’s AQUALYTES  water infuses electrolytes at the bottling level making it the only Artesian Water infused with both electrolytes and PH to provide the human body with proper hydration.

Certainly a far throwback from Howard Helfant’s days growing up in Long Island, where children carried canteens with water to quench their thirst. ”  Today” , as Helfant says , “we sip from BPA-free plastic bottles filled with electrolytes and vitamin water for “hydration. New terms, yet in many ways the same concept. ” This is why the Aqualytes business was so interesting for Howard Helfant to invest in.  To stay informed on Howard Helfant’s business please follow him on his fan page.

Howard Helfant continues, “we read about water shortages as well as polluted drinking water after every natural tragedy. People need and demand fresh water for their homes whether it be provided by their local town or bought in bottles. Pollution, population growth, emerging market development and fear of scarcity all make water one of the most compelling long-term bull markets” .

” We see the shelves filled with brand of this water and that water. We want to position Aqualytes as a healthy alternative.  We are slowly  but surely building out from Palm Beach County, FL., says Helfant and hope to be able to spread the qualities of our water. ”

Howard Helfant’s New Happy Hour at 101 Cantina Boca Raton

Not a stranger to the restaurant business or to Boca Raton nightlife, Howard Helfant has always planned his businesses with special events to interest his customers and the community.  When Howard Helfant launched his very popular Howie’s Hot Shot beverage, the launch party was a who’s who of Palm Beach County. When Howard launched his previous foray into Mexican cuisine, it was in partnership with Dennis Max, one of the area’s best known restauranteurs.

101 Cantina Boca Raton has announced that every day from 4PM-6M will be Happy Hour at his Royal Palm Place nightspot. Howard Helfant, partner in this new Boca Raton tequila bar and restaurant, added, “Every Day from 4pm-6pm we will feature $1 Tequila Shots and $2 Tequila Drinks. We will also continue to offer Live Music and Free WI-Fi all complimented by great snacks.

Helfant continues, “My restaurants have always been a place to network and meet new business associates and clients. I want Happy Hour at 101 Cantina to be a comfortable casual location for everyone in Boca Raton and surrounding areas.”

Just opened earlier this month , 101 Cantina  is already one of Howard Helfant’s best  Boca Raton eateries and offers a wide variety of Mexican fare with a wonderful selection of tequilas, margaritas, beers and soft drinks.

Howard Helfant’s Support Of Local Farm Produce

Howard Helfant, Boca Raton’s restauranteur and consultant to many food and beverage establishments through his Winstar Consulting Group has always embraced the local food movement by always including regionally produced items to his menus or encouraging his clients to do so as well in their menus.

Howard Helfant continues, “Eating locally is a growing trend. Many of my diners even ask where the food they are eating comes from and in my opinion, local food translates to fresher food and better food. Even if it is just one part of the meal”, comments Helfant, “by just adding a dish or two a day shows our support of local farmers and allows s to get more creative with our meal and as well our drink selections. ”  HH at SS

Though it many not be for everyone, Howard Helfant feels all food and beverage businesses should look locally before anything. “It now only reduces lead times to the restaurant floor but also helps promote business in the same area.

“The local food movement is growing in every city that I visit”, says Howard Helfant, “and if I draw a 100 mile circle around Boca Raton, FL., we can not only find much of what we need but we can also  save time and money and put a fresher product on our tables. ” For more information about Howard Helfant and Winstar Consulting.

Each Sunday I try to catch up on readings and updates that I miss from the hectic week that is the life of Howard Helfant. As I peruse through the many postings on LinkedIn and so many other social media and news media sites I came upon this posting from Bill Gates. As a businessman in Boca Raton, Florida, there is not a day that I, Howard Helfant does not learn something new, something to convey to a client, a business partner, a customer or even my own children.  These 3 pointers, as simplistic as they may read, are a mantra that I am going to place in my Winstar Consulting offices for everyone to read.
